Craftsmanship
Whether it’s our cashmere scarves, baby alpaca pillows or soy candles, we start by sourcing the finest materials. That includes pima cotton and baby alpaca yarn from Peru, cashmere from Mongolia and 100% pure soy wax for our candle line. We are proud to partner with highly skilled craftspeople in the U.S. and overseas.
PERU. HOME OF THE WORLD'S FINEST ALPACA
Our very first scarf was made from baby alpaca yarn. I fell in love with this fiber because it is not only soft, but also durable and breathable. When it came time to outsource our production, Peru was a natural fit. Peru is home to the finest alpaca yarn and over the centuries Peruvians have learned the most sustainable methods of gathering the fiber. We found a wonderful team of artisans in Arequipa, Peru that create each of our Little Knotty and Big Knotty scarves. Each scarf is beautifully knit and then finished with details like hand-knotted fringe, figure-eight knots and two shell buttons.
SOY CANDLES CRAFTED WITH HEART IN THE HEARTLAND.
We are proud to partner with a soybean farm in Illinois to create our luxury soy candle collection. Our candles are hand-poured using perfume-grade fragrance oils, lead-free cotton wicks and high quality soy wax. We chose soy wax because it burns cleaner and longer than paraffin wax while still delivering a great fragrance experience. Soy wax is derived from natural vegetables while paraffin is a gasoline by-product. Another benefit, soy wax is 100% biodegradable and rinses clean so our glass jars are easily re-usable.
